If you’ve been wanting to own a sleek, futuristic personal transportation device that doesn’t cost you’re entire bank account balance, the Gyroor Warrior is precisely that product. The frame/casing is made of a combination of high-quality ABS plastic and lightweight but strong aluminum.
Right out of the box, the product seems well-constructed, and no screws and other loose parts fall off when you unbox it. We (Jason my hubby and I) recently received this as a Christmas gift last in 2020 (probably the only good thing that horrible year!). And we liked what we saw when we unpacked it.
It seems like this company uses the best materials they can find and assembles them using the best technical hands. Many people that bought this smart, self-balancing scooter say it’s performed to expectation and hasn’t fallen apart after several months of heavy use.
Starting, Riding, and Stopping the Gyroor Warrior
This product is smart enough to self-balance as soon as you start it. It knows it needs to keep the footpads facing up so can hop on and get the ride you need to brighten your afternoon. There’s an app you can use to control this hoverboard. To access the Gyroor App, simply download it from the Smartphone Store. Alternatively, grab the product’s user manual and scan the QR code.
But you know what? The Gyroor Warrior works pretty reliably even without the app. Plus, we noted that activating the app requires a ton of permissions.
Are you a beginner hoverborder and have been wondering if the self-balancing scooter market offers a beginner-friendly hoverboard? If yes, here’s good news for you: the Gyroor Warrior is among the most stable and easiest-to-use beginner hoverboards out there. While there’s a bit of a learning curve, even the slowest learner can master board control in 30 minutes tops.
My nephew spent last Xmas with us, and the outdoor spirit thrives in this lad as it does within us. So, he wanted to test out this off-road board, and we let him. He’d not rode a hoverboard before, no has any experience riding a regular skateboard or an e-skateboard.
Bluetooth Speakers and App
We have a pretty large basement, and we have him learn how to ride this hoverboard there. He powered the device on, and itself balanced in a second. Then there was this Bluetooth on announcement he didn’t like very much. Mike is a teen and seems to hate almost everything And, he hated that there’s no way to switch off the slightly annoying sound or even lower the volume. Who wants to have strangers staring at you every time you power up your hoverboard? But that’s not like a horrible experience, is it?
We’d downloaded the Gyroor App already, and Mike easily and quickly chose the instructions he wanted to ride the board. The teen didn’t feel so confident at first since he was trying to do something completely new to him. So, he had the walls of our basement for support just in case the board decided to suddenly jerk forward leaving him to fall face-down on the hard floor.
Mike chose the self-balancing mode on the app as a complete beginner, but there’s also an Adult Mode for more experienced riders. If you’re planning on buying this for your child, there’s a Child Mode as well.
LED Lights for Safe Night-riding
Also, setting a speed limit he’d be comfortable riding in was a breeze. He could also control the front and back LED lights for nighttime safety riding the hoverboard. But I’ve heard a few Gyroor Warrior users say they had difficulty controlling the LED lights with app. You can also track mileage so you don’t exceed the stated maximum 9.5 miles range. To be fair, the app works OK, but it could offer a better user experience.
Now, our fun-loving visitor loves rap music, and connecting my smartphone to the good-sound-quality Bluetooth speakers built into the hoverboard was pretty easy. As Eminem started playing, the kid started zipping around the basement like it’s the most natural thing to do! But that’s not until he’d been practicing riding this device for about half an hour.
Here’s the thing: the Gyroor is pretty easy to learn to ride. I’ve tested supposedly beginner hoverboards that spills the clueless beginner rider fast and sometimes dangerously, but this board is beginner-friendly and smoothly responsive to the instructions you give it.
A Beeping Sound
We’ve noticed that sometimes this hoverboard produces a beeping sound when you step off the foot pads. We also found that the beep persists until you turn off the hoverboard and crank it up again. I find this a little annoying, but not enough of a problem to warrant a don’t-buy-this-e-scooter warning.
Battery Power
The battery of the Gyroor is pretty reliable, too. If one issue keeps causing to pain to new hoverboard owners, it’s battery charging. But this board’s battery charges in under 2 hours even though the manufacturer states 2-3 hours for a full charge.
Another great thing you’ll love about this e-vehicle is that it holds charge quite reliably. I’ve tested hoverboards that hold a charge for 10 minutes tops, but this one lasts a couple hours so you can travel to your work and back without worrying all the time. I mean, this hoverboard weights in at 30 pounds, and that’s pretty heavy. And that brings me to the next aspect important aspect relating to this product — its weight and maximum weight capacity.
Gyroor Warrior Weight and Load Capacity
How heavy is the Gyroor Warrior? You definitely don’t want to lug this hoverboard for miles should the battery misbehave mid-ride. The Gyroor is as heavy as its close competitor, the Swagtron T6 which weighs 30.5 lbs.
But while it may seem like being too heavy is a bad thing, consider that this board is heavy because it’s made using heavy components. When it comes to things to electric skateboards and self-balancing scooters, heavier options tend to be sturdier and more durable. Additionally, heavier hoverboards almost always outdo their lighter counterparts in terms of the maximum weight capacity offered.
Now, the Average American male weights roughly 200 pounds. So, if you’re heavier than that be sure to find a heavy-duty hoverboard built to support heavy riders. The sturdiest hoverboard for heavy adults and kids I’ve ever rode is the Swagtron T6. The T6 offers as much as 420 weight capacity. So, even if you’re the heaviest rider you’ve ever known, the T6 should carry you around without breaking.
As for the Gyroor Warrior, the maximum load it can carry without straining is 265 lbs. That may seem pretty low compared to the T6’s 420 lbs, but how many people do you weigh over 250 lbs?
According to a recent news article published on Gallup, American men weighed on average 192 lbs between 2001-2009 vs 196 lbs over the decade 2010-2019. Additionally, more and more Americans have admitted to weighing over 200 lbs. Even if you’re obese (and it’s unlikely you’re considering you’re an outdoor enthusist0, both the Gyroor Warrior and the Swagtron T6 shouldn’t sag and break under your weight.
Motor Power
Two 350W dual motors give the Gyroor all the torque it ever needs to conquer flat riding surfaces as well as pretty hilly terrains. This hoverboard offers riders more engine power than the Swagtron T6 which offers 600 watts of raw power.
I’ve tested these two adversaries, and my 160 lbs body knows for sure that the Warrior climbs 30% hills a little better than the T6. But these two hoverboards aren’t like the best hoverboards for the steepest terrains ever.
As far as motor performance, the dual motors hold up really well, and users haven’t noticed declining performance as has been the case with a few boards. If you want a hoverboard that performs consistently over time, the Gyroor Warrior is a worthy option to consider.
Rugged tires
The tires are rubber and rugged, and that’s because this hoverboard is supposed to be an off-road e-rideable. But how well does this hoverboard do rugged terrains, muddy patches, asphalt, dirt roads? How well do these 8.5″ rubber tires roll over obstacles such as pebbles? Do these tires perform well when it comes to rolling over grassy areas?
Gyroor says that their Warrior is the most rugged self-balancing scooter ever made. But I’m not sure that’s a claim that comes backed up by solid data. It’s mainly a marketing-focused claim like the millions of misleading ones we keep hearing while in the marketplace shopping.
Jason and I have tested the Gyroor Warrior’s off-road ruggedness, but we don’t think this is the baddest boy out there. Out riding flat smooth surfaces, we’ve found that the wheels roll nicely and smoothly. But when traveling over gravel and dirt roads, these wheels do struggle quite a bit. In fact, it’s pretty easy to take a spill when riding on any kind of rough, unpaved, uneven surface. Going over small pebbles isn’t easy, too. And as for riding your hoverboard over the grass carpeting your lawn, that’s a tough task for these 8.5″ rubber wheels.
In the ruggedness department, we believe that the Gyroor Warrior isn’t the best bet. If you’re mainly shopping for a badass off-the-beaten-path beast, this self-balancing scooter just it — buy something else.
Braking System
Faulty braking systems on e-skateboards and self-balancing scooters have caused bad falls inexperienced beginner riders. And I’ve reviewed my fair share of hoverboards with notoriously defective electronic braking systems. But here’s good news — the braking system of the Gyroor Warrior works. At least, my own experience (and Jason’s as well) reveals that the stopping mechanism performs reliably most of the time. All you have to do shift your bodyweight a little backward by learning back a bit.
But I discovered one somewhat annoying thing while testing this hoverboard.
Safety Certifications
The Gyroor Warrior is a safe heavy duty hoverboard that’s successfully passed through the most comprehensive safety tests. Safety has been an area of major concern over the years, but it’s rare to find an option that’s not UL 2272 certified.
The UL 2272 certified isn’t evidence that a hoverboard will meet or exceed your performance expectations. Rather, it’s a way to ensure that hoverboards meet stringent safety standards so consumers can have peace-of-mind when out riding the self-balancing scooter.
With the Warrior, you’re assured that the battery works safely and won’t cause a life-threatening explosion during hot-weather rides.
Gyroor Warrior Hoverboard and Battery Warranty
The Gyroor Warrior boasts a 12-month manufacturing defects warranty. If something about the hoverboard doesn’t function properly, contact the company via email and their technical people will fix the issue ASAP.
A 12-month warranty for a hoverboard is pretty much a standard warranty. I’ve seen and reviewed quite a few off-road hoverboards with similar on-road and off-road capabilities that offered a 1-year warranty, just our off-roading warrior here.
As for the battery, it functions under a shorter warranty of just 6 months. Perhaps that’s because issues are a huge problem when it comes to electrical vehicles of any kind. Battery problems are one of the main headaches as far as owning an electric skateboard or a hoverboard like this one. Fortunately, the battery for this hoverboard does holds a charge for a decent amount of riding time outdoors.
Additionally, this board offers LED lights on the front and back of the hoverboard. The lights work as expected, and they’re there to make sure motorists, pedestrians, and other riders can see you easily.
I can switch the lights on and off without difficulty using the Gyroor app, but a few Gyroor Warrior reviews have said the app doesn’t control these lights very well. Luckily, this issue seem to affect many Gyroor Warrior owners.
How Much Does the Gyroor Warrior Cost?
Well, hoverboards in general aren’t cheap things, and the Gyroor is no exception. It retails at a couple hundred dollars, but I must say that at that price point, it’s still tons of value for the price.
I’ve come across quite a few hoverboards that don’t even perform as well as the Gyroor Warrior costing over $100 more! OK, the deal is by no means a steal, but you definitely won’t feel ripped off…unless you get a hoverboard that doesn’t function as advertised , which sometimes happens.

Is the Gyroor Warrior hoverboard for off-road riding a good buy? The short and simple answer is a YES, this high-load capacity self-balancing scooter amounts to pretty decent utility and value. The battery charges well and relatively fast, and it does hold charge satisfactorily.
The range isn’t great, but it’s not something to complain about either. As for speed, it’s not the fastest hoverboard on the planet, but it’s not the slowest hoverboard either. The price point won’t the bank, too, and you’ll receive a sturdy, well-made product that lasts.
Compared to its competitors such as the Swagtron T6, the Gyroor is hands down the better deal. The Swagtron T6 provides pretty the same features and weights similarly but offers a higher load capacity and costs more. But the T6 seems to be a little less reliable than the Warrior, and if reliability isn’t the most considering when choosing an off-road self-balancing scooter, what is?
I’m convinced that the Gyroor Warrior is a great product, and so are legions of real users all over the web. Grab it now, tomorrow, next week, or whenever you’re ready…just stop fence-sitting and do the right thing. You most likely won’t regret this decision.
